Registration for Winter 2012 Scituate Public Schools Academic and Social Skills Development Programs
We are pleased to once again sponsor the Scituate Public Schools Academic and Social Skills Development Programs running six weeks: March 5th – April 13th.
For each program, we have identified highly qualified SPS staff and aide support to provide a low staff to student ratio (usually 1:3 for social groups and 1:4 for academic courses) to assure the quality of this programming for our students. Classes are open to ALL SPS students, with appropriate staffing ratios and reserved slots to maximize accessibility for students receiving Special Education Services. Unfortunately, we no longer accept out-of-town registrations for Scituate Public Schools' after-school academic and social skills development programs, except for students tuitioned into SPS or Scituate students who are enrolled out of district.
Registration deadline is February 8th. There is a $25 late registration fee for any forms received after February 8th.
For 2012, these programs have been generously supported by grant funding received from CVS Caremark, the Evan Henry Foundation for Autism, the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation, Boston Bruins Foundation, Harold Brooks Foundation and Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 550 U.A.

Thank you from Scituate North Pole Express
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make the 4th Annual Scituate North Pole Express on Saturday, December 3rd a tremendous success. Approximately 2500 people attended, including many from outside of our community, and all received a taste of Scituate hospitality at its finest. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this magical event; we hope to see you again next year!
It takes a village to pull together an event of this magnitude. Although there are far too many people to list here, we would like to thank all the volunteers, readers and SHS students who helped make the 2011 Scituate North Pole Express a success. Special thanks to Tom Rose(tkrose.com), Kim O'Reilly, Anne Lambert (annelambertcreative.com), Jill & Robin King owners of Restaurant Oro, Field & Sons, Roche Bros., Carl Traina and the Spindrift Quartet, Stop & Shop and Elliot Goldfarb for your very generous contributions to the CORSE Foundation and SHORE. We sincerely appreciate your donations, sponsorships, help and support.
Thank you all for your generosity of time and talent.

Thank You for a Wonderful Gala!
On October 1st, CORSE Foundation held its 6th annual Gala at the Scituate Country club. CORSE would like to acknowledge all those individuals and businesses that donated to and participated in the event's success. Thank you for being part of our "Community of Resources" to provide programming and resources for children with special needs. None of this would be possible without Jennifer O'Neill and Gina McClellan (Gala Chairpersons), Scituate Country Club, Mike Connor (Auctioneer) and Dom D'Arcangelo (DJ). We are very grateful for your continued support!

CORSE and Scituate Recreation Department Honored
The Scituate Recreation Department and CORSE have been selected as recipients of the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association’s (MRPA) Program Outreach Award. The award is for a non-profit organization that has gone over and above regular programming to provide a benefit to the community. The award was presented on March 16 at a ceremony in Hyannis.

Suzanne Erwin, Jen Vitelli, Tracy Johnston and
Maura Glancy at award ceremony.
MRPA award committee chairman Bruce Doig said the board unanimously chose CORSE and the recreation department because of the wide range of programs they offer for children with special needs. “They have great programs and everyone on the committee agreed it was worth recognizing,” he said. “I’m involved in youth sports, and we’ve been trying to focus on involving kids that are challenged and provide more opportunities for them, and when I read about their programs and saw how much they do for kids, it was really something that struck close to home.”
